We Edmund Tuttyll', Henry Rawlyn' and Richard Rawlyn' have given to William Stylle of Swannyngton' and Alice his wife 1 built messuage and 1 garden annexed to the same called Paynes lying in Swannyngton' and abutting on the common called Hengrave towards the east and on the land of the manor of Hovell[es] towards both the west and the south and north, which messuage and garden we Edmund, Henry and Richard lately had jointly of the gift of John Bootys late of Swannyngton' as by his charter indented given at Swannyngton' on 7 September, 6 Edward VI [1552] more fully appears, to hold to William Stylle and Alice, their heirs and assigns to their sole use, of the chief lords for ever, in witness of which we have put our seals, given at Swannyngton' on 1 July, 1 Mary [1554].
