Two search facilities for material on the Anglo-American Legal Tradition website have been added.
(1) Court of Common Pleas plea rolls (CP 40) Search is based on indexes for selected records from the period 1349-1596. The indexes were compiled by Vance Mead and Rosemary Simons, from photographs of the documents made available by Robert Palmer, Elspeth Rosbrook and Susanne Brand. In total the database currently contains information from about 690,000 entries on the plea rolls, including over two million personal names.
(2) AALT Lists and Indexes Search is based on various lists and indexes of medieval and early modern records, including King's Bench plea rolls (KB 27), Elizabethan Star Chamber records (STAC), Chancery final decrees (C 78, 79) and 17th-century Court of Common Pleas plea rolls (CP 40). The indexes were compiled by Vance Mead, Robert Palmer, Susanne Brand, David King, Jens Roehrkasten, Penny Tucker, Michael Scott and Alan Cooper, from photographs of the documents made available by Robert Palmer, Elspeth Rosbrook and Susanne Brand. In total the database currently contains information from nearly 250,000 entries.
