I Christopher Worthyngton of Adlyngton in the county of Lancaster gentleman, son and heir of Laurence Worthyngton, have granted to Gilbert Gerard of Wigan, gentleman, all my messuage and all my lands, tenements, meadows and pastures in Ines in Makerfeld [Ince-in-Makerfield] in the county of Lancaster, to hold them with common of pasture, turbary and all other liberties pertaining to them, to him, his heirs and assigns, in exchange for one close lying in le Scolles [Scholes] in Wigan in the county of Lancaster called le Whelley [Whelley] now in the tenure of Gilbert Wat[er]ward, one acre of meadow lying in a certain close called le White rydyng in the vill of Wigan in the holding of the aforesaid Gilbert and one parcel of meadow lying in le WeteAccres in the same vill and 40 shillings paid to me for a fine, of the chief lords of that fee for ever. Warranty against all people. Know that I have put in my place Peter Gerard and Gilbert Asshurst my attorneys to deliver seisin. In testimony of which I have set my seal to the present indented charter.
