I Roger Goldhore of C[ri]geleston' have given
to John de Dronsfeld' one plot of land called Hanrode within the boundaries of C[ri]geleston',
to hold to him, his heirs and assigns of the chief
lords. I and my heirs
will warrant the plot of land with meadows, woods and all other appurtenances to John, his heirs and assigns against all men
for ever. In witness whereof I have put my seal.
Witnesses: Richard de
Blacker, Thomas Pelle, Robert Chauntclere, William del Grene, John de Rilay, William Erkyn and others.
Given at C[ri]geleston' on Sunday next before the feast of the Apostles Philip and James 1369 [29 April 1369].
[Crigglestone was in the parish of Sandal Magna, in the West Riding of Yorkshire. The seal shows a pelican in her piety.]
