41 Ed3 Oundle David Wallshman David Walsheman was found in the church of St Peter on 30th July 1367 and said he was a thief at Slawston, Leicestershire. He had stolen a brown bay horse worth 16 shillings and sought the protection of the holy church. He abjured the realm and was assigned to Southampton. In his possession he had 4d and 8 shillings from the sale of the horse and a stick and a knife worth 1d. He was imprisoned in the manor but broke out and fled to the church. John went to the house of Adam de Karlil to have sex with Elena his servant. Adam objected and sent his servant William to get John ate Strete the constable. Adam appeared with a sword at which point John drew his knife but was killed by a blow to the head from Adam's sword. Jurors felt Adam killed him with malice aforethought.
