Preston Deanery 18 Ed3 Thomas son of Henry Gibbesson de Preston took sanctuary in the church on 14th November 1344 and confessed he was a thief and abjured the realm. He has stolen 12 sheep from Thomas Robyn de Preston. He had no chattels and was assigned to the port of Dover.

Ecton, Cogenhoe 18 Ed3 Roger Capoun de Eketon took sanctuary the church in Eketon on 13th January 1344/45 and confessed he was a thief saying that he stole 10 shillings from a merchant from Coventry near the wood at Harpole. He refused to abjure the realm and was put under guard but escaped and fled to the church at Cogenhoe and confessed to the same offence. He abjured and was assigned to the port of Dover. His chattels were a hood worth 1 penny and a sword worth 6 pence for which Cogenhoe responds.

His chattels were a virgate of land (and a half) worth 15 shillings, a messuage worth 2 shillings, 2 mares worth 5 shillings, brass worth 2 shillings....an acre of meadow worth 2 shillings and 2 sheep worth 8 pence.

(This is recorded a misfortune but appears to be a suicide).
