I'm very grateful to Raymond E. O. Ella for sending me these two photographs showing the arms of the Usflete family on funeral monuments.
(1) Arms from the tomb of Sir Fulke Greville (d. 1559) and his wife Elizabeth (Willoughby) at Alcester, Warwickshire. The shields show (i) the quartered arms of Greville, (ii) Beauchamp of Powick quartering Usflete and (iii) the twenty Willoughby quarterings.
(2) Arms from the tomb of Thomas, Lord Wharton, (d. 1568) at Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria. The shield shows the quartered arms of Wharton impaling those of Stapleton. The quarterings of Stapleton include, fourth, Usflete, and fifth, Furnival (reflecting the marriage of John de Usflete and Lora, daughter and heir of Gerard de Furnival [Calendarium Genealogicum, vol. 2, p. 623, no 31] - for further details see the comments by Raymond E. O. Ella on the
Goole on the Web website).
