Some corrections and additions to the Complete Peerage: Volume 12, Part 1: Strange of Blackmere

STRANGE or LESTRANGE (of Blackmere)

Volume 12, part 1, page 341:
In 1272 he [Robert Lestrange (d.1276), a younger son of John Lestrange III of Knokyn], was pardoned for cutting and selling part of a wood at Chawton, Hants, which had been given to him by his br. Hamon.

The Stranges held Chalton, not Chawton, in Hampshire [see Victoria County History, Hampshire, vol.3, p.104].

Volume 12, part 1, page 344:
He [John Lestrange (d.1361)] m. Mary, da. of Richard (FITZALAN), 10th EARL OF ARUNDEL, by his 1st wife Isabel, da. of Hugh (LE DESPENSER), LORD LE DESPENSER.

Mary was the daughter of Edmund, the 9th earl of Arundel, not Richard, the 10th earl (see Arundel, vol.1, p.244, note b).
