Volume 12, part 2, page 658:
He [Robert de Willoughby (d. 1317)] m., in or before 1303, Margaret, da. of Sir Edmund (DEINCOURT), 1st LORD DEINCOURT, by Isabel, da. of Sir Reynold DE MOHUN, of Dunster, Somerset.

According to Complete Peerage, vol.4, p.120, Isabel, the wife of Sir Edmund Deincourt, was the daughter of Sir Reynold Mohun by his wife Isabel, daughter of William (de Ferrers), earl of Derby. But the issue of Isabel de Ferrers had certainly failed by April 1327, when an inquisition was taken after the death of John Meriet, who had married her granddaughter. At this time Margaret was still living. Clearly, either she was the daughter of another wife of Edmund Deincourt, or Edmund's wife Isabel was not the daughter of Isabel de Ferrers.

[Peter Stewart pointed out this contradiction in May 2001. The problem was also discussed in January 2002 by Douglas Richardson, Cris Nash and Rosie Bevan.]

He [William (de Willoughby), Lord Willoughby (d. 1409)] m., 1stly, before 23 Apr. 1383, Lucy,(b) da. of Roger (LESTRANGE), 5th LORD STRANGE, by Aline, da. of Edmund (FITZ ALAN), EARL OF ARUNDEL.

Perhaps on 7 Jan. 1382/3 (Cal. Close Rolls, 1381-85, pp. 287-98, 300; Cal. Papal Letters, vol. iv, pp. 492, 496).

Douglas Richardson, in December 2001, supplied details of a licence, dated 3 January 1382/3, for the marriage of William and Lucy, at the oratory of Middle Castle, Shropshire (William's father is described as Sir William de Willoweby, Lord of Eresby in Lincoln diocese) [citing William Salt Archaeological Society Transactions, new series, vol. 8, p. 84 (1905)].

Volume 12, part 2, page 665:
He [Robert (de Willoughby), Lord Willoughby (d. 1452)], m., 1stly, before 21 Feb. 1420/1, Elizabeth, da. of John (DE MONTAGU), 3rd EARL OF SALISBURY, by Maud, da. of Adam FRANCIS, Lord Mayor of London. ... He m. 2ndly, before 9 Jan. 1448/9, Maud, 1st da. of Sir Richard STANHOPE, of Rampton, Notts, by his 2nd wife, Maud, sister of (whose issue was coh. to) Ralph (DE CROMWELL), 3rd LORD CROMWELL, da., of Ralph, 2nd LORD CROMWELL.

In the chart pedigree of the FitzHugh family between pages 432 and 433 of volume 5, Complete Peerage shows, as Robert's first wife, Joan, daughter of Henry, Lord FitzHugh (d. 1424/5), by Elizabeth, daughter and heir of Sir Robert Grey.
