John P. Ravilious, in December 2002, provided evidence that Gilbert was Stephen's son by his marriage to Rohese [citing Shakespeare Birthplace Trust Records Office, DR10/15; Discovery Catalogue, National Archives].

Douglas Richardson, in December 2001, produced evidence suggesting that she was a daughter of Richard, earl of Arundel (d. 1301/2), and that she died 7 February 1340 [citing Miscellanea Genealogica et Heraldica, 5th series, vol.9, p.166 (1935-1937)].

He had been predeceased by a son John, for whom a dispensation was granted in 1349 to marry Blanche, daughter of John Lord Mowbray [Complete Peerage, vol. 9, p. 384, note e; vol, 10, p. 662, note e]. Brad Verity, in April 2003, gave further details of Lord Segrave's sons Edmund, who died in infancy, and John, born at Bretby Castle, Derbyshire, 13 September 1340, from C. W. Segrave, The Segrave Family: 1066 to 1935 (1936) [citing the Arundell Manuscripts].

Margaret, da. and eventually sole heir of Thomas (OF BROTHERTON), EARL OF NORFOLK and MARSHAL OF ENGLAND, by his 1st wife Alice, da. of Sir Roger DE HALES; which Thomas, who d. s.p.m. 1338, was 5th s. of EDWARD I. ... She m., 2ndly, Walter (DE MAUNY), LORD MAUNY, who d. in Jan. 1371/2.
