In 1416 Robert's wife was called Eleanor, and was then pregnant [Canterbury and York Society, vol. 46, p. 455 (1945)]. The marriage settlement of Robert's son Richard, dated 8 April 1423, mentions several manors held for the lives of Robert and Eleanor, his wife [Suffolk Record Office, reference 449/2/648].

Regarding the date given above for the marriage to Elizabeth Grey, note that Robert's marriage was later (31 January 1398) granted to William Lescrope, earl of Wiltshire.
