Mare, by Mabel, elder da. and coh. of John Malherbe, by Maud his wife, who was
widow of Adam de Montbegon (d. 1189) and da. and coh. of Adam (d. 1159, Pipe Roll,
5 Hen. II, p. 63), s. of Swain, s. of Ailric, 1086 (Assize Roll 483, rot. 50 d; Feet of
Fines, Yorks, Yorks Arch. Soc., 1218-31, p. 165; Dugdale, Mon., vol. v, pp. 138,
139; Monkbretton Chart., Yorks Arch. Soc., p. 191).
Rosie Bevan, in July 2003, pointed out that according to Farrer, Early Yorkshire Charters, vol. 3, p. 318, Maud's first husband Adam de Montbegon died before 1172, her second husband John Malherbe died in 1181, and she married thirdly Gerard de Glanvill.
[The marriage to Gerard, given by Keats-Rohan, Domesday Descendants,
had been pointed out by Adrian Channing.
