Volume 3, page 344:
She
[Margaret, wife of John (de Cobham), Lord Cobham (d. 1407/8)]
d. 2 Aug. 1385, and was bur. at Cobham. Brass and M.I.
As noted by Brad Verity and Louise Staley in May 2001, the date given for Margaret's death is impossible, as she was mentioned in the will of her mother Margaret, Countess of Devon, dated 28 January 1390/1. Douglas Richardson, in November 2003, commented that the monumental inscription at Cobham gives the year of her death as 1395 [citing an illustration in Nigel Saul, Death, Art, and Memory in Medieval England: the Cobham Family and their Monuments, 1300-1500 (2001), p. 102].

Volume 3, page 345:
JOAN, suo jure
BARONESS COBHAM, granddaughter
and h., being da. and h. of Sir John DE LA POLE, of
Chrishall, Essex (s. of Sir William de la Pole, of Castle Ashby), by Joan,
only child of John, LORD COBHAM abovenamed, which last named Joan
(who m. in 1362, cont. dat. 21 Oct.) d. v.p., about 1388.
Douglas Richardson, in August 2002, pointed out evidence that Sir John de la Pole and his wife Joan were certainly dead by January 1393/4 [citing Kent Archaeological Society Records Branch, vol. 12, pp. 234, 235 (1936)]. Brad Verity referred to the account of Sir Reynold Braybrooke, in History of Parliament, which repeats the 1388 date and refers to negotiations in 1390 by their daughter Joan for the sale of part of the de la Pole estates.
