Note g:
B.M. Campbell Chr. viii/22. See ped. sub DEVON.
John and Hawise were married by mid February 1229/30, when John de Neville sought from Robert de Courtenay 11 librates of land in Waddesdon, Buckinghamshire, which he had previously promised to give in marriage with Hawise [Curia Regis Rolls, vol. 13, p. 585]. Hawise's mother was Mary de Courtenay, who was living in 1250 [National Archives SC 7/64/2; online abstract in the National Archives catalogue].
